However, today's front loading machines are very low water users; and more important, they extract so much water in the high speed spin that you save an enormous amount of drying energy. OUt here (So. Cal.) the water company AND the gas company give rebates on qualifying models. Whirlpool, Maytag, and GE all make some. Home Depot has become the 2nd largest seller of appliances in the US. Good prices, too. Check them out.
