|In response to Re: Installing a washer/dryer in an apartment-style condo|
: Hi there-
: My husband and I are considering getting a washer and dryer for our condo (laid out like a traditional apartment). As we don't think it has washer hookups, we were wondering what options are available to us? Portable machine draining to the sink? Regular machine draining to the sink? Having hook-ups installed? As we are expecting our first child, we were hoping to go the least expensive route.
: Thanks for your help!
Does your building have a suds pressure zone that you may have to take into consideration?.
Do you have the proper GFI available
Are the existing water lines capable of this much volume being taken off and are there shock asorbers on the risers" (Quick closing valves cause hydraulic shock)
Did you inquire about an extension on your insurance policy to cover water damage
What type of venting are you planning for the dryer?
Is it a gas or electric Dryer?
Do you have a dish washer is so did you exceed the DFU on your existing piping?
Call a local plumber and get permission in writing from the board of directors or management agent
