: I read the post below regarding the install of the Kohler cast iron tub. If I read it correctly you are only hanging the stringer on the long wall? and because of the lip on the edge of the tub it will rock? I am not sure if I totally understand. The instructions with the tub are somewhat lacking detail.

If every thing is level, there will be no rocking.
Not everything in life is perfect though.
The shimming is only needed if things are out of level.
