Jon, CEA has given you very sound advice. You're not working with cast iron pipe which is nasty stuff to work with because of its weight and joints that defy disassembly by mere mortals. Also, if you will skim down the old posts on this board, you will find a large percentage of the questions are about venting. It one of those things that most of us DIY types rarely think about, and then we get into trouble because there is more to venting that it appears at first glance. Retro fitting proper venting could be a challenging job, so you should get skilled, professional advice before renting a snap cutter.
