: When there is a quick spring thaw we get massive water flow into the sump pump hole of chrystal clear water. We put in a four in. drainage pipe below the foundation weeping tile last year which we think took some of the water away. It took 4 sump pumps and a two inch gas pump to keep the water from flooding the basement this year. The pumps ran from Sat. through to Thurs. The house is situated on an all gravel based area. The bush behind the house has many maples.
Professional water proofing sounds like a good idea. If you don't go that route, at least a battery back up system to protect your home in case of a power outage.
