: : I plan on remodeling my home. I want to place my kitchen in what now is by bedroom. On the otherside of my bedroom where I plan to place the kitchen sinks are to bathroom sinks. Can I connect my kitchen sinks to the existing plumbing in my bathroom sinks? : Sure you can IF the kitchen sink waste line is 2" : A lot of times plumbers rather then bother having to run 11/2 and 2" lines use 2" and reduce the inlet with a 2 x 2 x 11/2 drainage fitting. : If you have a 2" opening then the kitchen sink waste is legal. : Some of the really bad codes do allow the use of a 11/2 Trap for kitchen waste Check with your local code Actually, both the UPC and the IPC allow an 1-1/2" trap and trap arm with a 2" drainage line on a kitchen sink. Make sure that you install a clean out. |
