Thermal expansion / contraction has much to do with a line this size. This is why the gas code (both IPC and UPC) call for a test of 10 or 15 minutes (2003 IPC has 1/2 hour per 500 cu.ft. or fraction there of) with elevated pressure, depending on the code you fall under. Read your code and you will find this out. |
