I am getting ready to rough in valves for my new vanity area. The wall is an outside wall (therefore load-bearing). If I am going to center my set-up on the available wall, I would have to notch one of the load-bearing studs enough for part of the valve to fit in and to allow access for line hook-up. What is the proper way to do this? Is there a proper method to notch a load-bearing stud that makes it both safe and proper?
Thanks for your assistance.
