: No, the water is not held in storage in any way. It is processed on demand through the ion exchange resin chamber. When regeneration of the resin is required-approximately once a week-some brine is backflushed through the resin. If the backflush valve is stuck you could be flushing continuously. Have your unit checked out right away by a serviceman.
