In response to Re: sewer gas smell from toilet
: We have a sewer gas smell coming from a downstairs toilet. Plumbers have removed the toilet, replaced the flange that was cracked, put in a new wax ring, and reset it. Still had the smell. Then they reset it again, this time with two new wax rings. We still have the smell. The smell seems follow the toilet being used. In the morning when no one has used it for 9 or 10 hours, there is no smell. We were out of town for two days and when we returned - no smell. They also did a smoke test for leaks in the lines - no leaks.
: They feel they've done all they can. I'd like to know if anyone has any thoughts of something else it could be.
: Thanks

The odor could be coming from somehwere else, if the toilet gasket was replaced twice, it's pretty unlikely the odor is emitting from a faulty toilet seal.
