Assuming your pipes are in the "right" place, there should not be a problem using a sanitary tee. Make sure it is postioned so the flow opening in the tee points downward. So it drains properly. Wyes and Tee-wyes are often used in horizontal drainpipes because tees are not allowed in horizontal drain configurations, with few exceptions such as venting. : I have a new DWV for a vanity in a new bathroom. My vent line is already in (2") inside wall behind vanity. I have a two inch drain coming up through the floor under the vanity. My question is I want to install a 2 x 2 x 1 1/2 santee vertically on my drain, elbow over to pick up the 2" vent stack with the 1 1/2 inch going to my trap. : Does this installation require a wye in lieu of a santee? : thanks
