: I'd say its time to replace the unit. I've had to do that when similar symptons occurred. It's the oil leaking that is creating the oodor. Next, you'll see a stain or black gob below the plumbing. : : I have an Intertherm "Softheat" baseboard heating unit. There is obviously a power source but I'm not sure what is inside the heating element (like a chemical or something). In any case, whenever i turn it on (ie raise the thermostat), there is a foul smell, like plastic burning. I have removed the cover of the unit and vacuumed it thorouhgly. there are no foreign objects visible near the heating unit. : : Any idea what's wrong? |
