In response to Re: hot water boiler/low pressure
: Our boiler provides hot water for both our baseboard heating system and for our water usage in the kitchen, laundry room and bathroom. A few months ago the pressure in our hot water in the the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room decreased. Our heat seems fine though. We tried flushing out the pipes for any potential blockages but this did not help our problem. When our boiler was serviced, the representative from our oil company said that it was probably the coil that was causing the problem. Could this be the source of our trouble and if so, should we try to fix it ourselves or is it better to let the pros handle this one?

Reply:
If the problem occured right after the oil company serviced the boiler, it's possible they left a valve partially closed, restricting flow to the fixtures.
If in fact that the coil is the problem, i.e. clogged internally or build-up on it, a professional should investigate.
Good Luck. e-plumber
