|In response to Re: Frozen septic vent pipe|
: The past 2 winters our septic vent pipe has frozen over and caused an awful smell in the house. It appaers that the moist gases are freezing in the pipe eventually plugging the pipe. Do you have any thoughts on how to fix this problem.
Have you considered increasing this vent pipe to 4" diameter to prevent Hoar Frost.
Hoar frost is vent closure as the warm air from the sewer/septic tank comes into contact with the cold piping from ambient temperatures the internal walls of this piping freezes BUT a 4" pipe will not freeze up as the opening is to wide for the ice to bridge.
