: : Please excuise my noviceness of plumbing. I'm trying to learn as much as I can. Why would a "WYE" work in this situation? There is a horizontal run of drain pipe and he wants to add a vertical pipe for a vent. This seems to me that a 90 degree angle is needed to solve this. A "sanitary tee" would achive a 90 degree. A wye would extend off the horizontal drain line at a 45. : : : That is why I use a VENT TEE We cannot use a vent tee to take a vent off a horizontal drainage line where I live (UPC code). We can only use vent tees to tie vents together (6" above the flood rim levels of the fixtures). |
