: My house is 15-year-old. I recently flushed the upstairs toilet and, while the water rushes out, nothing is coming back in. This seemed to have happened overnight. No leaks, no clogs (and the water is turned on). The rest of tyhe toilets are fine. Is it possible my roof vent has become clogged? (Lots of trees and squirrels in my neighborhood Reply:
It appears that your problem is either the fill valve, (which refills the toilet) or the shut off valve, (under the toilet) is inoperable.
