|In response to Re: Type M or Type L????|
: Should type M or L copper tubing be used to connect cast iron radiators into a hot water system?
Many great localities will not allow Type M to be used on domestic water.
Now which one to use one would have to ask the following.
What temperature are you planning on using and the design velocity.
You see excessive temperature anything over 180 Deg F and a velocity greater then 3 FPS your looking for a severe errosion problems.
By installing L tubing your decreasing the internal diameter of the tubing and thus causing more friction and more noise and possible tubing failures.
Type M should be suitable if you stay with in the guide lines set by the CDA.
