In response to Re: Annoying noise (ticking sound) from pipe
: I have 4 year old town house. The piping are pvc not copper. when ever I use the water, either hot or cold, I hear rapid ticking sound. It continues for a while after the water has been turned off. after that one tink once in a while. I am guessing that there is air trapped int he pipe and when it bursts it makes this sound. Any solutions out there. I am so annoyed that I am about to take the drywall off to get to the pipe.

It's probably not air in the piping causing the ticking sound. My thoughts are that the water line is expanding where it passes through a very tightly drilled hole through in the wood or it is in an area where it is wedged. It may be difficult to pinpoint the exact spot where the noise is coming from, if you can locate it, try and create some room around the piping or muffle the sound with insulation.
Good Luck. e-plumber
