I'm doing a bathroom remodel and am currently focusing on building the shower.
I have built the curb out of three stacked 2x4s & floated with mortar. I have floated the shower floor with a slope of 1/4" per ft. When all is said and done, I am looking at about 1 3/4" from the shower floor to the top of the curb. This seems low to me. Is there a standard/minimum height that I should be looking for on the inside of the curb?
If the curb is too low, can I build up the curb with additional mortar? Would adding additional mortar on top of mortar that has already cured result in stabilty concerns?
