|In response to Re: Choosing faucet/shower hardware|
: In my area ( So. Cal.) Moen and Delta are typically builders "upgrade" brands, upgrade that is from Price Pfister. Top of the line models like Hans, Kohler, KWC etc. are chosen by homeowners contracting for remodel work; rarely see these in developer-built homes.
If you buy from a home store, I would recommend special order; the store stock models tend to be lesser quality ( anyone remember Muntz TV sets?)
A plumbing store is a good place to shop if they have a good showroom or at least good catalogs. The salesman should be very knowledgeable in helping you sort out features, etc.
Your well advised to get your contractor in on this decision early: issues like how many holes, finishes, accessories, etc. need to be identified early so you get the right sink and the countertop contractor is not surprised. If you purchase through your contractor he will get some margin on these things, but having him involved at this stage may contribute to a less stressful outcome of the project.
