We bought our house about a year ago. No clue how old the sump pump is. Our whole backyard is a hill with a pretty steep grade - coming down toward the house. Therefore, the pump works quite often. Spring thaw has begun & the pump cycles about every 1/2 hour. I hear a slamming noise after every cycle, loud enough to be annoying. Some sites say slamming is normal, others say slamming is a sign of trouble. Should I call a plumber to check it out? |
