basement floor drain overflowing

Hi. I need some help. Our house is approximately 50 years old. We live in a rural area with septic tank but have a municipal water supply. We had some flooding in the basement this past week after 1 day of solid rain preceded by 3 day of extremely warm weather (warm enough to melt a LOT of snow) Our sump pump was working fine. The sump pump well has 2 drainage pipes emptying into it. Across the basement floor is a floor drain. The water was coming up from the drain. But there was no increase in water flow to the sump pump well. Just a trickle. Does the floor drain connect with the sump pump well? (neither discharge pipe lines up with the floor drain). If it does, could it be clogged, resulting in the trickle of water into the sump pump well?

thanks

Zenon
