In response to Re: basement toilet venting
: We are in the process of adding a bathroom in the basement of our house which now has a full BR just upstairs. The floor was ripped up and the main drain for the toilet was put in the floor... Our plumber then flaked out on us and we found someone else to finish the plumbing. He doesn't think that the new toilet is vented. Unfortunately the floor is re-cemented and if it is vented, it is somehow tied into an existing line for the tub or sink (which are visibly vented to existing vents). Is there any way to determine if the new toilet is in fact vented, or do we need to rip out the floor to be sure?? Thanks,
: Rob

The toilet could be wet vented with the lavatory drain.
Is the lav vent line 2" in size rather than the normal 1-1/2"? This may be an indication the toilet is wet vented.
The previous plumber should have filed the work and had it inspected & approved before the cement was poured as part of the rough inspection.
Good Luck. e-plumber
