PLassterers used to do what you are asking by first spplying wire lath, then troweling on the "mortar" coat, then applying the "brick" layer after the mortar hardened, and finally removing the top layer at the mortar lines between the "bricks".
: I have a paneling wall behind my wood burning stove and would like to make it into a "stone" wall. Real stone would be too heavy for the paneling to hold up and I wondered if there was a plaster or something that I could apply to make my own faux stones that would not be so heavy? Also, advise on how to make it stick to the wall?
