What kind of contractor is he? An intergral stop lets you turn off that one faucet without affecting anything else in the building. Integral check valves prevent water backflow/mixing between the hot and cold water systems. It is not a question of knowing where to install them because they are usually assembled as part of the factory faucet specifications. : What functions of integral stops and check valves? Seems like my contractor knows where to install them but has no ideas what it is for.
