: Why does reddish-brown water come out of my bathtub faucet when I first turn it on? After a couple of seconds the water returns to normal. No other faucets in my home have this problem. This is a new home construction. I'd like to know if the contractor goofed up or if this is something easily fixed.

It can be easily fixed.
They used a galvanized pipe nipple to install the tub spout.
A brass one would have cost an extra dollar.
