In response to Re: new cutting board
: : I had a cutting board that was built right into my counter top. It was I think made from corning but I am not sure. The rim around the outside edge was like a stainless steel. I bought a new kitchen counter and we took out the cutting board and thinking I could replace it easily I threw it away. I had it for over 20 years. HElP I want another one. I live in Merritt Island Florida and they all look at me like I am crazy when I ask for one.

: There's a company by the name of Vance Industries in Des Plaines, IL that used to make those types of cutting boards. They still make a lot of kitchen accessories. I've added a link to this reply. Otherewise, just search Vance Industries on the net. Good Luck!

Found scientificplastics.com/rims :manufacterer of high impact plastic sinks with over 40 sizes
of sink rims, one of which I will use with a butcher block to fill the hole in my stainless steel countertop, found few options in the corning
selection- search 'counter saver' and pasta insert
as possible alternative may be to match up a rim with a piece of marble. mjk
