: : Thanks Terry. I forgot to add that the new line would have to take a 45 deg bend at mid-run to the stack. Does this change the venting requirement?

: No. I take it that the neighborhood contractor is not a plumbing contractor?
: :
: : : : My friendly neighborhood contractor tells me that I have to run a new vent if I move my toilet more than 4ft away from the main stack/vent in my remodel. Everything I read says 6ft max for this 3" line. Anybody out there familiar with a more restrictive code in WA?

: It's 6 feet for a 3"
: and 6 feet for a 4"
: five for 2"
: 42" for 1.5"

UPC limits the length of a toilet trap arm to 6'--even if you run 4".
