In response to Re: WASHING MACHINE DRAIN CYCLE
: I HAVE A 2 INCH FLOOR DRAIN ON THE SECOND FLOOR. WHEN USING MY LARGE CAPICITY KENMORE WASHER, ON THE FIRST DRAIN CYCLE, THE WATER COMES TO THE TOP OF THE DRAIN, BUT NEVER ON THE RINSE CYCLE. CAN I SLOW DOWN THE RATE AT WHICH THE PUMP EXTRACTS THE WATER? IS THERE ANYT ADJUSTMENT SCREW ON THE PUMP?

Reply:
The first rinse cycle must discharge more water than the rinse cycle. In any event, the proper way of handling this situation would be to have the drain line snaked and cleaned, there is most likely clothes lint build-up inside the piping. The line will need to be cleaned from either the floor drain line, washing machine or hopefully there is a clean-out fitting just for this purpose.
Good Luck. e-plumber
