In response to Re: DWV Pipe gap and Fernco
: I had an under-slab toilet flange that was placed too close to the wall (by 4"!). I broke open the slab, cut out the fittings, and glued on a new santee for 12" rough-in. In order to have clearance to glue in the downstream pipe, I end up with a 1-1/2" gap upstream (in the horizontal section), which I joined over with a Fernco coupling. If this section were vent-only, I wouldn't give it a second thought, but the sink drains are wet-vented upstream of this joint. Is there anything I should do differently with this joint, or call it done and close it up? Thanks in advance for your help.

You should have used 2 ferncos. I wouldn't leave a gap like that.
Wasn't it an option to simply cut out the flange and extend the trap arm?
