: Can someone explain step by step on how to prime a water pump. I understand you have to fill the pump with water, but what I don't know how to do is bleed the line( get the air out so the pump can catch). Thanks Thanks Joe for writing back. I tried to fill with just water exactly as you said with no success. Last year, I had someone prime it, and it worked. He mention that some valve, or device in the pump, or well was not working properly, and that if I turn the pump off I would have to prime it all over again. Well of course he was right. What he did was hook up a hose to some part of the pump, and ran it to a gallon container full of water, and then continued to pour water as you suggested. My question is, what was he doing, and do I do that with the pump on or off, and if off, when do I turn the pump on to give it a try. Thanks again. |
