You do not specify whether it only backs up when the disposer is operated, or if it always backs up. In the first case, the drains are not installed properly. In the second situation, the line is still plugged regardless of what he has tried, and the only thing a single sink will do is give you one sink bowl that backs up instead of two.
: It's been 1 week since my husband installed a disposal in our double sink...and the water is still backing up to the other side. He has snaked it... to no avail, and has added heavy duty drain cleaner...NOTHING. What could possibly be the problem? The only one I can think of...is to buy a single sink and install it...which I actually wanted anyway. But hubby won't agree to it at this point. Thank you.
