|In response to Re: Water tank noise from new|
: Electric hot water tank. Maybe 30 psi water pressure in tank as is gravity feed system from above ground well. Age of tank-month . Makes a noise that sounds like water boiling from element. Goes on and off. Should it make that noise? Reason to be concerned. Tank is located on main floor can be heard from all rooms(kinda like the fridge if it is new for you). Noise sounds like a shhhhhh. Any ideas??
Answer; Various ingredients in the water (alkaline, acidic,Maganese, sulfer, etc) can cause this "singing" sound. I have found tha this in no way any cause for alarm . Possibly a cartridge type filter installed before the tank will eliminate this sound. Good luck. Hube
