Some drain cleaners can actually damage piping, connections and fittings, depending on what is being used and the condition of the plumbing. If the drain line becomes slow draining, hire a professional to snake and clean it. A good drain cleaning will last for years under normal conditions. Try to use a hair snare to help prevent clogs. Using chemicals to help keep a drain clear is literally pouring money down the drain. Some drain cleaners can actually damage piping, connections and fittings, depending on what is being used and the condition of the plumbing.
