It could be whatever someone wanted to make it. It may be a "dry well" that the sink drains into and then soaks into the ground, or it could be a pit that the water flows into and then it is pumped to a regular drain somewhere. : I'm looking to buy an old house that has a sump drain for the kitchen sink. What is a sump drain? How do they work? What are pitfalls? how can I check if its working properly? PLS HELP!
