AAV's are a local issue. We are also under the UPC but some cities have elected to allow AAV's.

: Good catch. If his code allows AAVs it may also allows a longer trap arm. A longer trap arm to a real vent would be preferable to using an AAV if he can swing it under local code.
: Being in Illinois I tend to forget about the more lenient codes! The code here is basically UPC so AAVs are prohibited, but I've noticed that the local home centers sell them anyway...go figure.
