Your drain could be inserted into a slip joint, which would be a simple repair, or soldered into a "solder bushing" which can be somewhat difficult to do the first time you try. Thanks I think the drain is soldered in. some drains in the house are coming off the cast iron with lead pipe and then to the sink drains with traps
