That is why we almost have to smell the odor. Many times what someone thinks is a sewer odor is somthing else and if the person can decide what the odor is, then curing it can sometimes be simple. : HAd similar problem , no clue what the cause was. Then I discovered a slow oil leak in a pipe embedded in the concrete of the basement floor. Fixed the leak and smell is gone.
