The only time a sink opening is too low is when there is not room enough between it and the cabinet floor for the trap. For a pedestal sink you have to pick it out first. Some have the entire rear open so any height will work, and others have a recess and for those you have to have the opening high enough so you can slip the trap in and up onto the sink's drain pipe. : No. What size sink works w/ 16in? Is 12in too low? Also, what about pedestal bath sinks? : Thanks alot for your help. : : : Is there a typical height for the san tee which receives the waste from the kitchen trap? : : I generally run them about 16" off the floor. Sinks seem to be getting deeper, so if you are planning a ddep sink and a disposer you may want it a bit lower. Remember, if it is too low, you can always use longer tailpieces. If it is too high, you cut open the wall.
