: Ok, my wife is trying to talk me into buying a house built in 1963. One of the problems I see is the shower. The shower is approx. 12 - 15" deep. I can't understand why or how this is as the rest of the slab is all the same level. My question is, how would I level up the shower and extend the drain pipe? Have you ever heard of or seen a shower like this? Thanks! Actually I have seen things like this. Also, many motels are putting in fiberglass units kind of like you describe, only they are more like a small shallow tubs (not sunk into the floor). You are probably just going to need to remove it all, bring in earth to build the spot up and install a prefabricated pan or build a mud set shower. The drainage line should be able to be extended up fairly easily. Deb The Pipewench
