: Its made out of a heavy black plastic thats very very stiff.I need to remove the fitting and place it back when done.Is there a way to make this material easier to work with?I suppose heating it would work but whats the best way.I dont want to use a propane torch.. I have to replace a leaking galvanized t but to remove it I need to take the well line off the inlet Tony This sounds like polyethylene--it is stiff and hard to work with. There are no magic answers. You will not be able to remove the fitting. You will need to cut it off and then use couplings if there is not enough length. Do not use galvanized fittings. Use only brass insert fitting and marine quality stainless steel clamps. Deb The Pipewench
