Recently I've experienced a sewer odor originating from my ejection pit. Since we have recently experience very cold weather accompanied by some snow, I suspect my roof vent may be clogged.
I have three questions:
1) Could a clogged vent on the roof cause the odor?
2) Given that the ejection pit is sealed (and given that I re-caulked around the lid, screws, and electrical cords), how is it possible any sewer gas
could be escaping from the pit itself?
3) Since none of my internal drains currently-in-use drain into the ejection pit (I have only roughed in my basement bathroom and have made sure the odor is not coming from those drains), what would create the smell?
Thank you for any assistance.
