In response to Re: Wilkins 600 Pressure Regulator
: I have a Wilkins 600 pressure regulator on the main line into my house. Feed pressure varies around 80 pounds, and I want 60 pounds in the house.

: The valve was installed around 8 years ago and has worked fine. Recently, however, we noticed that the house pressure was up significantly. The gauge at the valve showed 80 pounds. I purchased a new gauge, and it shows 80 pounds. I tried to adjust the valve, but it is unresponsive.

: Is it possible that a seal or gasket has failed? Is there a rebuild kit, or do I need to replace the valve?

: Thanks,

If the unit is not taking an adjustment, it is usually more efficient to replace (a residential PRV) instead of rebuilding it. You should only need two wrenches, teflon tape and pipe dope for an exact replacement.
Good Luck. e-plumber
