|In response to Re: Confused by shower rough-in on slab|
: I have an ICF home with Hydronics in all slabs. My basement has been roughed-in for a shower. Water supply is in place but I am confused by the drain. Right now it appears it is just a void in the concrete framed with 2x4's (square, top of 2x4 flush with the surface of the floor and about 10"x10") Expandable foam has been placed into the hole. Should I expect a drain under there or have they just given me a pit. I expected to see a drain stub, not a hole.
: Thanks in Advance.
There is probably a capped off horizontal line in the hole. This is the way I rough in a shower on slab. The location of the drain and p-trap have to be really exact. So I run a horizontal trap arm in and cap it. A p-trap is connected to the trap arm and to the shower drain. The type of drain you will use will depend of the kind of shower you are planning on putting in.
