In response to Re: Toilet Bowl - Water Level
I have had the same problem for many years. To carry the mystery further, my three toilets throughout the house all lose bowl water over a period of a few minutes to several hours after a flush. They have been doing this periodicaly over the twenty years I have lived here.

I have removed and examined them, and even replaced two of them with new units. The toilets will work fine (maintain normal bowl water level) for weeks or months, and then revert to the lower level for months at a time. This change in performance occurs suddenly, not gradually, when it happens.

I have no pets to consume the water, and no signs of leaks - two of the toilets are on the second floor.

I thought it might have something to do with a clogged plumbing vent or backflow valve, but the design of the porcelain bowls should preclude
these affecting the water level in the bowl. Possibly seasonal changes in air pressure?

I'm baffled, and am currently tolerating it. Any suggestions?
