: Hi, : I am renovating an old bathroom in an apartment. I tore up the floor which was about 2 1/2 inches of plaster over floor boards and plan on replacing it with 1/2 inch wonderboard. This will effectively "lower" the floor two inches. The problem is that my old lead pipe and toilet flange will be too high for the lower floor. Can a plumber cut down the pipe and resolder a new flange? Or do you have another solution? : Thanks.
