In response to Re: Replacing Water Shut Off Valve
: The shut off valve supplying water to my toilet is leaking. I removed the old valve but could not remove the old ring and nut on the copper pipe. I installed the new valve (with the old ring and nut) but the leak worsen. Need advise on how to proceed.

If there is not enough copper to cut the old ring off and get a new one on, you will need to remove the old one. They make a handy-dandy tool that removes compression rings or they can be cut off with a hacksaw. If cutting off with a hacksaw, take care not to damage the copper pipe.
