In response to Re: toilet drips into drain pipe
: I recently installed a new toilet, all went well but i keep hearing dripping noises that appear to be excess water dripping out of the bowl into the drain pipe and after about two minutes they stop. I removed the toilet to find about an inch of water in the drain pipe. Is it normal to hear such drips as excess water empties into the drain. Is it normal to have an inch of water in the drain. I'm thinking the slope of my drain pipe isn't right. Any thoughts?

If the drain piping is holding water, it is back pitched, which is not a good thing, it could lead to clogs down the road. I'm not sure if you're hearing the water dripping into the drain, the water seal in the toilet bowl would probably prevent that. It may be the remaining water entering the toilet from the refill tube.
Good Luck. e-plumber
