In response to Re: Intermittent water heater ignition failure
: My Richmond power vent water heater usually works fine. Recently however, the ignitor has failed to light the burner before the water has become luke warm. Yesterday morning, the shower was just luke warm. When I went to the basement to check on the heater, the fire was on and the water heated normally. This happened a couple of other times recently. I suspect the ignitor may be failing, but would appreciate advice and opinions.

If the ignitor is working, I would suspect that the thermostat that detects the water temp is not functioning properly or the adjustable setting may be too low.
Good Luck. e-plumber
