In response to Re: Adding a new Washer connection.
: I recently purchased a 1956 home that has the washer/dryer in the kitchen. Since the home has a seperate utility room, I am interested in installing a new connection in the utility room (our water heater is in this room). Do you have any suggestions for someone that has no experience in this, but wants to learn??

There is alot to this. Do you have access underneath like a basement or crawl space? Drainage and vent lines need to be run. The plumbing vent needs to run up and through the roof. You need 220 power or a gas line and a vent for your dryer. The water lines can come off the water heater, so that won't be a problem.
You may want to call a plumber to lay this out for you. The ease or difficulty will probably be determined by your access to the existing plumbing.
